Wargaming Materials
Here is my guide for modelling materials an easy guide to follow part 4, part 1 (Preparing A Miniature), part 2 (Painting A Miniature), part 3 (Painting Horses), part 5 (Wargaming Tools).
Acrylic Frame Sealant Brown
Acrylic sealant I use this for making roads rivers swamps etc etc
Broom Head
Brown Corduroy Material
You can make ploughed fields with brown Corduroy material
Carpet
Carpet is absolutely ideal for making cornfields.
Car Repair Mesh
I have used car repair mesh to make fences.
Cocktail Sticks
Cocktail sticks are a fantastic modelling material they can be used to make snake fencing, spiky fences the list goes on and on, as well as that they also make useful tools for carefully applying small amounts of glue, paint to a model.
Doormat
Doormats are extremely good for modelling, and can be used in many places either as cornfields or cut up into smaller clumps and added as foliage.
Foamboard
Foamboard is extremely useful for making buildings and ruins as it's extremely easy to work with.
Bostik All Purpose Glue
Bostik all purpose glue as a general rule I use this for anything I want temporarily gluing, like gluing my figures to lollipop sticks for painting only to be removed later.
PVA Glue
To be honest I think modellers would be totally lost without PVA glue, I use it on just about every single project I have ever done with modelling. It is great for applying flock, static grass, sand and gravel to figure bases and scenery pieces.
Super Glue
I use superglue for most of my gluing requirements nowadays especially since superglue gel has been released. Glueing figures to bases also if I'm in a hurry applying flock, static grass, sand and gravel to figure bases and scenery pieces.
Hairspray
Hardboard

Light Duty Galvanised Wire
Galvanised wire can be used for all sorts of modelling just one example I used it to make barbed wire.
MDF
I use MDF mainly for the basing of larger projects.
Milliput
I use Milliput for making baggage, boxes, blankets, to put on my vehicles it just adds a bit more realism. I also use it from making sandbags.
Noch N Gauge Model Railway Ballast
Railway ballast is particularly useful as it can be used as a scatter material over bases and adds an extra dimension. I have found it to be fantastic at making stonewalls.
Noch Summer Meadow Grass
Polycell Polyfilla
Polycell Textured Ceilings Course Effect
I use Polycell Textured Ceilings Course Effect on all of my diorama bases.
Reed Window Blind
Anything like this is particularly useful for making log cabins, log forts, palisade fences etc.
Scouring Pads
Scouring pads were used to make my hedges and extremely cheap way to build lots and lots of hedges for next to nothing.
Slate Chippings
Slate chippings is another useful material to place on bases or dioramas.
Toilet Roll
Toilet roll is another really useful material for modelling obviously it can be used for cleaning up any mess you have made, but also you can use it for making tarpaulins for models tents etc etc.
