History

The 376th Infantry Division, formed in March 1942 in France, was part of the 19th wave of German divisions. Initially deployed to the Eastern Front, it participated in Case Blue and the Battle of Stalingrad under Generalleutnant Alexander von Daniels. Encircled during Operation Uranus, the division was destroyed in January 1943, with most soldiers perishing or captured.

Reformed in the Netherlands in February 1943, the division later served in Romania, fighting in the Second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive. It was destroyed again in August 1944, marking its end after significant contributions to German military campaigns.
