Rampaging Reich Rules

Rampaging Reich rules are based on KISS Rommel by Norman Mackenzie’s and High Command by Richard Affinati’s.

KISS Rommel

Norman Mackenzie’s KISS Rommel has inspired two other rules on this list: High Command and Pz8. KISS Rommel is an exclusively operational-map-and-tactical game system, featuring a map-based campaign system and on-table tactical rules for conducting battles.

In a specific battle, the commander-in-chief leads a corps consisting of 4-5 divisions, with each stand representing a battalion. The battles are fought on a 4′ x 4′ table, divided into a grid of 16 zones, each measuring 12″ x 12″. These battles span 1 day, lasting 9-12 turns. Supply only factors into the victory conditions; capturing all three enemy supply bases results in an immediate victory.

High Command

Richard Affinati’s High Command, an evolution of Kiss Rommel, is described as “Grand Tactical Rules for the Second World War.” While the original rules focus on the Eastern Front, there are also variations for the Desert (1940-43), Italian Front (1943-45), Western Front (1944-45), and Pacific (1941-45).

Each stand represents a battalion. Battles take place on a 5′ x 4′ table, divided into a grid of 20 zones, each measuring 12″ x 12″ (in contrast, Kiss Rommel uses a 4′ x 4′ grid). These battles last 1 day, spanning 9-12 turns. Supply is only relevant in the victory conditions; capturing all three enemy supply bases results in an immediate victory.
