The British Royal Marines

The British Royal Marines were involved in both the American War of Independence and the French & Indian War. Marines are military personnel who are trained to fight on land and sea, and are often involved in amphibious warfare.

The British Royal Marines fought in the American War of Independence from 1775 to 1783, including in the Battle of Bunker Hill.

The British Royal Marines fought in the French & Indian War, (The Seven Years War)

  • The Battle of Belle Isle on 7th June 1761. 
  • British expedition to Guadeloupe in 1759. The British captured the island after a six-month battle.
