Vapnartak 2014 Wargames Show York, Every year, the Grimsby Wargames Society embarks on a journey to York for the Vapnartak Wargames Show. As the first show of the year, it invigorates our spirits and sets the stage for the upcoming wargaming season. The camaraderie and excitement are unmatched!

Critical Mass will be running participation games of their 15mm Sci-Fi rules.

Mongoose Publishing will be running participation games of their Judge Dredd game.

Yorkshire Renegades Modern Day Afghanistan

The game is based in a fictional settlement surrounded by compounds and poppy fields in modern day Afghanistan. The Coalition must race towards a downed Apache crew situated on the edge of a hostile settlement. News has spread to the local Taliban militia who are now swarming towards the crash site. The British lead force have at their disposal, jet fighters, Chinook Transport, Armoured car support and an elite special forces team. The Taliban number around one hundred and will be “Spawning” from several hot points throughout the board including the mountains surrounding one edge of the board and the purpose built Mosque within the town.

“The Slaughter of the Danes” – The Battle of Cruden 1012 AD

A demonstration game using the Impetus rules featuring 28mm Vikings and Scots giving battle on the shores of Cruden Bay in North-East Scotland. The Scots Army under King Malcolm II has gathered to throw back into the sea a Danish force led by Prince. Later King, Canute of Denmark. After a long day of mutual slaughter, both sides fell back exhausted. The resulting treaty sawn the Danes withdraw to try their hand in the conquest of England.

Leicester Phat Cats Yom Kippur

We decided to Yom Kippur as it was the 40th anniversary of this famous tank battle.

Peter Pig will be running participation games of 15mm Viking raids.

The Mighty Titan determined to demonstrate his complete mastery of his undersea kingdom. By disrupting, whenever he can the Terrainian trade routes. Recent reverses have shown some small deficiencies in the operational capability of his Titan Terror Fish (they keep getting beaten by Stingray). And so Titan has ordered the construction of a new unbeatable super weapon, the Titan Megafish…!

The Bunker Wargames Holiday Centre ‘War of the Worlds’

Its in 20mm, set in South East England around the turn of the century (19-20th). The players (4) control a Martian Tripod each vs the Umpire with a period British Army.
