Wargaming Projects 2017 I’ve done pretty much the same as I do every year flit from one thing to another and never really achieving anything.

ACW Project

I actually started off quite well with this project this year I managed to get quite a few bits finished however I still don’t have two opposing armies to play with so strictly speaking another failure lol.

5th June 2017, The first painting I’ve done since I’ve come back of holiday some union artillery men and drivers. Trousers highlighted blue.

18th May 2017, Finished the last Infantry except varnishing.

17th May 2017, Straps finished guns to do then tidy all mistakes up.

7th May 2017, 3 more union units based ready for texturing.

6th May 2017, Varnished some union Infantry it’s nice to be getting on with this project.

18th April 2017, All the straps and gun slings finished.

18th April 2017, I finally got back to painting some ACW figures. I’ve still got an awful long way to go before I’ve got two armies with which I can play with.

12th June 2017, Based and grassed a job lot of 21 N scale vehicles which I got from eBay.

9th June 2017, More Scourge from eBay.

6th March 2017, Monorail Scenery Pack finished to be honest I’m rather pleased how this came out.

19th February 2017, Monorail Scenery Pack undercoated and ready to paint.

17th February 2017, The last of the Scourge reinforcements for the time being.

15th February 2017, Some scourge vehicle’s painted.

10th February 2017, Finished two lot of Scourge Infantry.

8th February 2017, Some Scourge reinforcements and the wife built the last of my card buildings. Here’s a link to the first lot we did Dropzone Commander Buildings.

7th February 2017, I’ve finished assembling the rest of the Scourge.

29th January 2017, The wife very kindly built my card buildings from the second starter set and reinforced them with foamboard. Here’s a link to the first lot we did Dropzone Commander Buildings.

29th January 2017, I managed to get hold of some more Dropzone Commander Card Buildings from eBay.

23rd January 2017, I started my third two player starter set.

22nd January 2017, 3 more Condor medium dropships finished.

15th January 2017, 3 more Sabre tanks and the Kodiak armoured command vehicle finished.

13th January 2017, I bought some UCM and Scourge from eBay.

12th January 2017, Some UMC Bears.

11th January 2017, Some more Dropzone Commander Infantry.

WWII Project

My World War II project will be an ongoing process and I would imagine will take many years to complete.

I’ve actually done quite a bit with this project during the year rebased the lot of old stuff Re-painted a lot of the buildings for the Stalingrad project which have been ongoing now for ages.

8th December 2017, 1943 onwards, German Infantry Battalion.

3rd December 2017, A German Infantry Battalion all finished and based for Rapid Fire Rules the miniatures were mainly Pendraken Miniatures and one or two of Magister Militum.

November

1st November 2017, A load of bomb craters from Pendraken Miniatures.

Some partially painted Pendraken Miniatures Barricades, I particularly like these and will be getting some more.

Some more of Ades work, slate Barricades and some Sandbanks, the hayricks are Pendraken.

October

30th October 2017, A revamp of some old buildings to the Stalingrad theme of white render.

26th October 2017, Some bits and bobs sorted out, Sandbag emplacements from Steve Clay (Battlescale Wargame Buildings) which I’m extremely impressed with definitely be ordering some more.

A new member (Ade) who joined the Grimsby Wargaming Society has become an extremely good friend of mine, and turns out to be an excellent sculptor so I’ve been very lucky in having a few pieces sculpted especially for me.

And yes for all those interested he will be opening his own website.

Grimsby Wargames Society

The Grimsby Wargames Society, based on Six Hills Street, provides diverse gaming opportunities, including historical, sci-fi, and fantasy wargames, as well as board and card games. We meet every Monday and Thursday from 7 PM.

My Operations Room

In the Operations Room, historical wargaming sessions feature various rule sets. Intricate miniatures and dioramas create a fun, immersive atmosphere, while strategic depth keeps players challenged and entertained.

Wargaming Expenditure 2017, This is an attempt for me to actually record how much I spend in a year on wargaming, so if I can keep up adding stuff to it, it will be interesting to add it all up in December.
