During World War II, millions of Soviet citizens became refugees due to the conflict and Soviet policies. Many fled the advancing German army, while others were displaced by the Soviet Union’s brutal tactics. After the war, millions more were forced to leave their homes due to shifting borders and political changes in Eastern Europe.
